Writer, Curator, and Associate Program Director for China at KADIST

Yuan Fuca is a writer and curator based in Beijing, Boston, and New York City. She currently serves as the Associate Program Director for China at KADIST. Yuan’s curatorial research and practice have been supported by institutions including Para Site (Hong Kong), the Japan Foundation, the Korea Foundation, the Asia Society, the Asian Cultural Council, Maxim Gorki Theater, New Century Art Foundation, and the De Ying Foundation. From 2019 to 2022, she was the founding Artistic Director of the Macalline Center of Art in Beijing. Between 2016 and 2019, she co-founded and directed Salt Projects, a non-profit art space in Beijing that served as a site for exchange and experimentation among emerging artists and practitioners.
Yuan is also the founding editor of Heichi Magazine, an online bilingual publishing platform. Her writing has appeared in Artforum, Artnews, BOMB, Flash Art, Frieze, Texte zur Kunst, The New York Times T Magazine, and Yishu.
