His work has appeared in Jiazazhi, Ji Jin, T Magazine, NOWNESS, Condé Nast Traveler, Caixin Weekly, Yicai, Guyu Plan, The Lonely Library, Noon Vision, Aranya Post, and NetEase Looker.
Notable series include Growing Wild in the North, Walking in the South, Network, Steel Snails, and Northeast Tigers.
He is fascinated by the unique texture of digital photography. His aesthetic is rooted in the idea of “democratic seeing”—that every subject, no matter how ordinary, is worthy of equal artistic consideration. Working within a realist framework, Xu aim to capture the true essence of things through my lens.
He recently finished a long-term project focusing on the borderlands of Northeast China, a subject he intend to continue exploring and documenting in the years ahead.
