Jin Dongxuan, of Korean ethnicity, was born in 1966 and currently lives in Harbin. He is a freelance independent filmmaker. He spent much of his childhood traveling between Mudanjiang and Harbin, settling in Harbin after the age of 12. He began filming the documentary series Passing in Harbin in 2002, and it is still ongoing.
