Pang Wei is a landscape designer and poet based in Guangzhou, China. His landscape designs advocate regionality and “dialect landscape” are the receivers of major awards, including the Honor Awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects (2002), the National Gold Medal for Environmental Art at the 10th Design for China (2004), and the Top Honor Award for Excellence on the Waterfront (Chicago, USA, 2008). Pang has published several monographs such as Contemporary Architecture in China·Urban Landscapes by Liaoning Science and Technology Publishing House, Fish Made of Magnets by World Chinese Press, Gods – Poems of Pang Wei and Wander – Photography of Pang Wei by Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House. His co-authored publications include The Culture Being Ignored and the Beauty of Weeds by China Architecture & Building Press, Landscape·Practice and Landscape·Perspective by Dalian University of Technology Press.

Pang holds a degree in architecture from South China University of Technology (1990) and is currently the Chief Designer at Guangzhou Turen Landscape Planning. He has occupied several academic roles at Peking University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Landscape Design, and Hong Kong-Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, among others.
